YIKES! EGGS IN BEER!?

The idea behind this beer starts on a Saturday morning, with the idea of an omelet. Just as I was preparing the eggs I clumsily* spilled a bit of leftover beer into the pan. “Yikes! There couldn’t possibly be a worse combination – eggs and beer!” …or so I thought. A quick google search led me to this:
“Nobody knows the definite origins of the practice, but it is believed to have started in England.
Here are some explainable reasons for putting egg in beer
: hangover symptoms, nutritional benefits and source of protein, clarifying craft drinks.

The idea of adding eggs to beer reached colonial America, where it quickly turned into a drink called a FLIP.

In the early 1800s, a drink called the Miner’s Breakfast enjoyed widespread popularity. Two raw eggs are cracked into a beer, which is then served with a shot of whiskey on the side.

Also called the Irish Breakfast, the Miner’s Breakfast is still available in bars across the country, especially on the East Coast. The Wire even has a famous scene with Baltimore dock workers drinking Irish Breakfasts.”

So apparently beer with eggs is not only not a horrible combination, but a very popular one!
Hope you enjoyed, and remember, not everything is as it seems!
